From high pastures to glaciers, from night to lakes, the "Rendez-vous des Cimes – Desire for refuge, desire for mountains" offers an original interlude in the heart of the Pyrenees. Conceived by the "Réseau Éducation Pyrénées Vivantes" (Living Pyrenees Education Network), a cross-border association that develops heritage interpretation programmes across all sides of the Pyrenean range, this event for the general public turns an evening in a mountain refuge into a true sensory journey through seven Pyrenean worlds.

Designed for refuge visitors, mountain lovers, the nature-curious, and anyone who wants to discover the massif in a different way, this gathering blends emotion, discovery, and reflection. The aim: to inspire a desire to experience the mountains with a renewed gaze, attentive to their riches as much as to their fragilities.

The evening unfolds in two parts. Before the meal, a tasting invitation showcases the valley's produce and the connections between the refuge and its territory. This convivial moment also opens up a conversation around mountain uses, visitors' motivations, and the ecological challenges specific to high-altitude spaces. After the meal, it's time for the staged performance: a live show combining sound creations, drawn projections, and readings aloud. Haikus, stories, tales, and scientific and poetic texts make up a sensory walk through seven Pyrenean ecosystems. An original way to encounter the mountains, between imagination and knowledge.
